Hello to the dear esteemed farmer community, It is a pleasure to connect with you through the 'Payir Seyyum Mun' app that, roughly translated, means 'Before you can select Crops' app. The purpose of creating the App is to introduce the farmer community to a possibility of predicting the profitability-the small and large losses they could expect based on selection of their crops- and to know which crop would actually produce profit. All of this can be done, even before the process of cultivation.

Today (that is before they have access to this app) farmers generally choose the crop that they are cultivating based on the climate, water bodies and the crops that are generally cultivated in the surrounding lands. (They are unlikely to know the details of the cultivators and crops beyond their area). This is the practice that most people follow. For example, if the groundnut market is good, most farmers will cultivate the same. After having crossed many hurdles to cultivate and harvest groundnuts, they go to the market, only to realise that all other farmers have cultivated the same crop.

Due to excess availability, they do not receive a fair price for all the efforts invested. Both in the past and the present, this is one of the significant problems faced by farmers- that is, cultivating the same crop as everyone else- which results in excess -and everyone receiving a very unfair price.

This "Payir Seyyum Mun" app has been developed to solve this problem. The trial/utilisation of this app will help you realise the benefits that it provides towards farmers and how this app will act as a technical companion for the farmer community. If you have downloaded the 'Payir Seyyum Mun' app and provided the information asked for, i.e. the full details of your land and crops at the time of download, the date of planting crops (if known) then- the date of harvest could be approximately predicted. For example, if you have grown groundnut, give us the full details as mentioned above. So if each of the farmers in each of the areas is able to provide all the details, using the above app, and the details are complete, each farmer will be able to see the following details on screen

• A. Crops grown in all four directions
• B.Details of crops, surface area of the farmers who have cultivated in a radius of 10 kms upto 200 kms.

Each farmer can get the details of the crops around them with statistics. (For example, groundnut is planted by 50 persons across 33 acres 15 cents and harvest dates 12.04.2020/12.07.2020). By using this information before even planning your crop, the farmers can avoid groundnuts and choose some other crop to cultivate, thereby avoiding loss to both you and other farmers. Not just avoiding loss, you will also be able to maximise each of the farmers' profits through this method. So this "Payir Seyyum Mun"app has been designed in such a way it serves as a companion/friend to farmers. I therefore request all the farmers to join hands use this technology companion to get many mutual benefits.
